Clubs & Organizations
Berrien High School offers several Clubs and Organizations for your student to join.
All clubs must have a teacher sponsor and are required to have parent signature/consent for participation. Clubs will meet once a month on a rotating schedule. Only curriculum-based clubs are allowed to meet during school hours.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)
An organization of Christian athletes designed to further school sportsmanship and Christian character in school and community activities.
FFA
The FFA is not a club. It is an integral part of the Agriculture/Agri-business classroom in over 7,250 schools across America. It is practical hands-on learning skills for farming, for agribusiness, and for agricultural leadership. FFA is a national organization that reaches from Maine to Hawaii and from Alaska to Puerto Rico.
Skills USA
The Skills USA Club, designed for students enrolled in technology classes, provides students with opportunities to develop and enhance their leadership skills through group and individual projects and competitions.
Beta Club
The Beta Club is a service club for the school and community. The club promotes scholarship and good citizenship at BHS. It undertakes worthwhile service projects each month. Criteria: Students must maintain an overall average of 90. Membership consists of students in grades 9 – 12. Ninth graders are invited to join the club after the first semester at BHS. Worthy character, good mentality, creditable achievement, and a commendable attitude are required.
4-H
The mission of the Georgia 4-H is to assist youth in acquiring knowledge, developing skills, and forming attitudes that will enable them to become self-directing, productive, contributing members of society. This is accomplished, through “hands-on” learning experiences, focused on agricultural and environmental issues, leadership, communication skills, food and nutrition, health, energy conservation and citizenship.
Y Club
Y Club is an inter-denominational organization representing all faiths that desire to belong to a club interested in moral and spiritual values. The stated purpose of the Y-Clubs is “to create, maintain, and extend throughout the home, school, and community high standards of Christian character.” Members of BHS Y clubs are involved in monthly school and community service projects.
Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)
FBLA is designed to develop the qualities necessary to become a responsible business leader.
Families, Careers & Community Leaders (FCCLA)
This club is designed for students interested in family, careers or community service. The co-curricular chapter is tied closely to information being taught in Family and Consumer Sciences area of study. Students have opportunities to gain leadership skills, make decisions and compete in contests representing their school.
Student Council (Elected Members)
The Student Council is an organization of student government consisting of Presidents, Vice-Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers, and Senators for each class elected by their peers.
Criteria: Students must have an 80 or above average and be duly elected by their class in order to be a member of the Student Council.
Interact Club
Interact is a Rotary-based club that brings together young people, ages 12-18, to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self.
Berrien High Rebel Regiment
The Berrien High Rebel Regiment, founded in 1954, is an award-winning program based out of small town Nashville, Georgia. From the range of Marching Band, Concert Band, and Jazz Band, over 2000 awards have been won in their tenure. There are between 80 and 100 band members including instrumentalists and auxiliary members all ranging from 9th to 12th grade. The program is directed by Payne Pitts and auxiliary director Deree Nix. Every year the band excels in talent and accomplishes many things, not just in the field of music. Being in the band does not only teach you music, but lessons that will last a lifetime.
