Hi, my name is Taylor Strickland.
I am thirty-five years old, married to my lovely wife Elisa, and father to an 11 year old son and 7 year old daughter.  I am passionate about about music and media and pouring into the lives of young people to help them recognize their life's calling.  I received a degree in Mass Media from Valdosta State University in 2007, a Computer Repair Technical Certificate from Wiregrass Technical College in 2010, and a Masters Degree in Adult & Career Education from Valdosta State University in 2017, and several other career certifications over the years.  I believe that all labor yields profit and a person reaps what they sew; I believe everyone has a something to give and that we should each pursue our calling in life.  I operate my classroom by these philosophies.

Introduction to Audio, Video, Teach and Film provides an overview of audio/video production, and theory, required for today's mass media industry. Knowledge of audio and video principles, the impact of video on everyday life, and technology proficiency demanded by business combine to establish the elements of this course. Emphasis is placed on learning audio/video production terminology, basic camera and microphone skills, and fundamental digital editing skills required for all pathway students. Students will learn essentials for working in a business environment, operating audio and video equipment, and creating and producing basic video projects using the full production process (preproduction, production, and postproduction). The intention of this course is to prepare students to be successful both personally and professionally in an information-based society.  Competencies in the co-curricular student organization, SkillsUSA, are integral components of both the employability skills standards and content standards for this course. Various forms of technologies will be highlighted to expose students to the emerging technologies impacting the Audio/Video Production world. Professional communication skills and practices, problem-solving, ethical and legal issues, and the impact of effective presentation skills are taught in this course as a foundational knowledge to prepare students to be college and career ready.

Audio, Video, Teach and Film II provides a more in depth study of audio/video production, and theory, required for today's mass media industry. Knowledge of audio and video principles, the impact of video on everyday life, technology proficiencies demanded by business, and video for news combine to establish the elements of this course. Emphasis is placed on learning advanced audio/video software, advanced camera and microphone skills, and broadcast styles and etiquette. Students will learn essentials for working in a business environment, operating audio and video equipment, and creating and producing a weekly school news broadcast using the full production process (preproduction, production, and postproduction). The intention of this course is to prepare students to be successful both personally and professionally in an information-based society.  Competencies in the co-curricular student organization, SkillsUSA, are integral components of both the employability skills standards and content standards for this course. Various forms of technologies will be highlighted to expose students to the emerging technologies impacting the Audio/Video Production world. Professional communication skills and practices, problem-solving, ethical and legal issues, and the impact of effective presentation skills are taught in this course as a foundational knowledge to prepare students to be college and career ready.

Audio, Video, Teach and Film III provides further study of audio/video production, and theory, required for today's mass media industry, as well as the potential to work with and for local businesses. Knowledge of audio and video principles, the impact of video on everyday life, and technology proficiencies demanded by business combine to establish the elements of this course. Emphasis is placed on learning advanced audio/video software, advanced camera and microphone skills, and business client interaction skills. Students will learn essentials for working in a business environment, operating audio and video equipment, and creating and producing professional video projects using the full production process (preproduction, production, and postproduction). The intention of this course is to prepare students to be successful both personally and professionally in an information-based society.  Competencies in the co-curricular student organization, SkillsUSA, are integral components of both the employability skills standards and content standards for this course. Various forms of technologies will be highlighted to expose students to the emerging technologies impacting the Audio/Video Production world. The Berrien Network is the public arm of the Audio-Video, Technology & Film pathway of Berrien High School and is dedicated to covering all types of Berrien High School events, both academic and extracurricular in nature.  Events are covered in various formats on our website, www.berriennetwork.com, ranging from video and audio streams to text and interactive forms.  BHS students comprise the bulk of the site's contributors and through their media creation efforts students are being trained and equipped for Georgia's growing Multi-Media workforce.
